Victoria Mboko vs Eva Lys prediction

Victoria Mboko ended a four match losing run and picked up her first victory since the Canadian Open with a comfortable win over fellow Canadian Bianca Andreescu in the first-round. The 19-year-old raced into a 3-0 lead at the start and gave up just one break point as she won 6-3 6-3 after one hour and 15 minutes.

She faces Eva Lys in the next stage of the tournament. The German also enjoyed a fine first-round match as she thrashed Katie Boulter 6-2 6-1. Lys now has seven wins from her last eight matches including the qualifying stages, having got through to the quarter-finals of the China Open in her previous event.

Mboko leads the head-to-head 1-0 after beating Lys in the second-round of the French Open earlier in the season. This is likely to be a close encounter between two rising stars, but Lys is in fine form at the moment and may just have the edge.
