Venezuela vs Nicaragua prediction

With two victories to their name so far and a 100% record having accumulated 17 runs and given up just five, Team Venezuela could be forgiven for having one eye on what is likely to be a Pool D decider between themselves and the Dominican Republic on Wednesday night in Miami. However, in order for Venezuela to make that game a showdown between two unbeaten sides, they need to get the better of a plucky Nicaragua, who are 0-3 in pool play despite having threatened a famous victory at one stage, leading Netherlands heading into the ninth inning this past weekend before being walked off in devastating fashion.

It does feel though like Dusty Baker’s men may have run out of steam and their shutout loss at the hands of Israel last time out was a tired effort from a team with no lack of fight, but who are ultimately outmatched at this level. Venezuela, with their plethora of MLB-proven players both on the hitting and pitching side, are expected to get the better of them comfortably, provided they avoid any sort of complacency and continue the improvement we’ve seen from them across the pool stage.

Venezuela vs Nicaragua tip: Venezuela to win with -5.5 run handicap
