Any outcome other than a record 12th World Cup for Team USA would be seen as a complete failure from their point of view when you consider the sheer volume of quality within their squad. Every player is world class whether it be Indiana Pacers phenom Caitlin Clark, or Dallas Wings superstar Paige Bueckers.
Losing reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson late on is unlikely to phase this squad, with their depth being absurdly good. Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier covers them on the experience front and it will be fascinating to see how USA function together with so many special players.
Whilst they may not be as clean as they would like initially as they all get used to working together on the court, USA should still get past China with relative comfort.
