Mantas Kondratavicius: High-pressure finisher making his debut

Mantas Kondratavicius (8-1) blitzed his way to a UFC contract last September, needing just over a minute to put away Djani Barbir on the Contender Series with a clean 1-2 against the fence. The 26-year-old Lithuanian has finished all eight of his professional wins and hasn't seen the second round in his last three fights. His style is straightforward - high pressure from the get go, vicious power in the pocket, and active ground-and-pound when the fight hits the mat. Kondratavicius has absorbed some heavy early shots but has shown a good chin and doesn't seem bothered by taking one to land one. His only career loss came against Virgil Augene in 2023, after which he's bounced back with three consecutive first-round stoppages.

Antonio Trocoli: Struggling fighter on the brink of a UFC exit

Antonio Trocoli (12-6, 1NC) has been finished in all three of his UFC appearances; stopped by Shara Magomedov via third-round TKO, and then guillotined by both Tresean Gore and Mansur Abdul-Malik inside the first round. The 35-year-old Brazilian originally earned a UFC contract on the Contender Series back in 2019, but had his win overturned after testing positive for banned substances. Since returning to the promotion, Trocoli has looked weaker than his opponents, as well as less aggressive and urgent in his actions. He stands extremely tall in his stance, making him very prone to being taken down, and is mostly inactive in the clinch unless he finds his trip.

Mantas Kondratavicius vs Antonio Trocoli prediction

This has all the makings of a showcase fight for the Lithuanian debutant. Trocoli's upright stance has been exploited in every UFC appearance - Gore and Abdul-Malik both found easy takedowns early, and his reaction speed to sprawl has been awfully slow. Against a high-pressure fighter like Mantas, who comes forward throwing bombs from the opening bell, that tall stance and high chin are just an invitation for trouble.

Trocoli hasn't shown anything special since his return to the UFC. He's physically underwhelming against his opponents despite being bigger than some of them, inactive in the clinch where he just searches for the trip, and even when he does get the fight to the ground, his ground-and-pound game is almost non-existent. This begs the question, how has he not been cut yet?

Kondratavicius on the other hand brings exactly the kind of pressure and aggression needed to break Trocoli. His front kick to create distance before closing in with a clean 1-2 has been a consistent weapon. In the clinch and on the ground, Kondratavicius is active with his strikes where Trocoli is passive. Expect a first-round finish.

Prediction: Mantas Kondratavicius to win in round one
