Tatiana Suarez: Number-two ranked Suarez looking to get another title shot
Tatiana Suarez (11-1) bounced back from his first professional MMA loss – a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of then-champion Zhang Weili – by overcoming Amanda Lemos on points last September. That kept her at number two in the rankings and the talented Californian will now aim to pick up another win as she aims to be next in line for another shot when that time comes.
Loopy Godinez: Surging Loopy looking for third successive triumph
Loopy Godinez (14-5) is coming off back-to-back wins over Julia Polastri and Jessica Andrade and she will know that a victory here against the talented Suarez will catapult her into title shot contention. She has losses in 2024 to current champion Mackenzie Dern and Virna Jandiroba but the 32-year-old is improving all the time and will be hoping to make it three in a row against Suarez.

There appears to be very little separating Tatiana Suarez and Loopy Godinez coming into this strawweight fight and that is what makes it so appealing as a contest.
Suarez is the one who arguably has the edge in her resume and the calibre of opponent she has faced while she unquestionably has more ways to win the fight with her decent power and strong submission skills.
Godinez is relentless however and the way in which she battled in the Octagon shows just how tough she is.
We fear she may not quite possess the technical skills of Suarez and we give Tatiana the marginal edge here. The height and reach advantage for Suarez should also help her maintain control of the fight.
