World number 21 Adrian Mannarino enjoyed a career-best run to the round of 16 at the Australian Open in January to cap off a remarkable purple patch that saw him pick up three of his five career ATP titles in the space of five months last year, but his form looks to have dried up considerably on his weakest surface. The 35-year-old should become a factor again on the incoming grass swing next month but world number 56 Zhizhen Zhang beat Daniel Elahi Galan in straight sets on Wednesday to look in good shape on clay and the Chinese will be eager to build after his own recent spell of tough form. Mannarino brings a convincing three-match losing streak into their first encounter and an early exit at the Provence Challenger last week suggests that will continue apace here.
