THE PREDICTION

World number 56 Xiyu Wang was set to endure a tough opener against Emma Raducanu on Tuesday but she will face Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova instead after the Brit was forced to pull out through injury. 22-year-old Wang brings some sold form into Miami after finishing runner-up to Yue Yuan at the Austin Open but a first round loss to Clara Burel a week later gives her a two-match losing streak to snap. World number 69 Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova qualified in decent fashion this weekend but she too brings a two-match losing streak into Miami after also losing to Yuan in Austin in the semi-finals. The Slovak has enjoyed some of the better tennis of her career since last summer, coming back from a set down to beat Wang at the Prague Open last August, but back Wang to earn at least a set on the way to levelling their head-to-head as the better-suited to these conditions.

TIP: XIYU WANG TO WIN A SET
