World number 33 Ugo Humbert has grafted hard this season to bring himself back in contention for a seed at the US Open. Titles and deep runs on the Challenger circuit in the first half of 2023 brought him back into the top 50 and recent runs to the semi-finals of Newport and Atlanta are proof of his steady return nearing a completion. World number 46 Arthur Fils qualified with flying colours this weekend to make his debut in Cincinnati but his best results have come on clay so far.
