Sassuolo preview: Entertaining Sassuolo

After the departure of manager Fabio Grosso, now sacked, to the big spending Fiorentina over the summer, there would have been some concern for Sassuolo but they have instead started the season well.

The hosts enjoyed wins against Torino and Juventus either side of a 2-2 draw in Bologna before heading into the international break, though, by becoming the first team to lose to newly-promoted Monza in Serie A this season.

AC Milan preview: Unbeaten Rossoneri

Ruben Amorim took charge of AC Milan over the summer and the Rossoneri have performed well thus far with three victories and two draws in Serie A, albeit succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at home to Benfica in the UEFA Europa League as well.

Their best performance of the campaign came in their most recent outing as they dispatched of Lecce by three goals to nil at San Siro with goals scored by Christian Pulisic, Diego Moreira and Adrien Rabiot.

Sassuolo team news: A few doubts

Arijanet Muric is now an injury doubt for Sassuolo as the likes of Sebastian Walukiewicz and Australia international forward Cristian Volpato work their way back to full fitness.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Satalino; Cinquegrano, Caleta-Car, Leysen, Doig; Thorstvedt, Matic, Bakola; Berardi, Esposito, Lauriente

Unavailable: Idzes (Injured), Kone (Injured), Yeferson Paz (Injured)

Questionable: Muric (Injured), Walukiewicz (Fitness), Cande (Fitness), Boloca (Fitness), Volpato (Fitness)

AC Milan team news: Wing-back issues

Former Brighton and Hove Albion man Pervis Estupinan is working his way back to full fitness, while Alexis Saelemaekers remains a confirmed absentee for the visitors.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Maignan; Mario Gila, De Winter, Pavlovic; Chukwueze, Modric, Rabiot, Diego Moreira; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek; Ramos

Unavailable: Saelemaekers (Injured)

Questionable: Pervis Estupinan (Fitness)

Sassuolo vs AC Milan prediction

AC Milan are not yet moving through the gears as Amorim’s Sporting CP managed to do so but Manchester United emphatically failed to, but there is definite improvement and a foundation has been laid. They head to a Sassuolo side that will seek to drag them into a bit of a chaotic, ‘basketball’-like game – but that may suit the counter-attacking sensibilities of Amorim and his Milan side, and so siding with the visitors may well again be decent value.
