Quentin Halys vs Coleman Wong prediction

Quentin Halys was on the verge of the quarter-finals at the China Open as he served for the match against Alex de Minaur. However, the Frenchman was broken, with De Minaur going on to win in three sets. The 29-year-old did win his first tour-level title in Kitzbuhel this season, beating defending champion Alexander Bublik in the final. He is closing in on his highest ever career ranking. 

Halys faces Coleman Wong in round one. Wong qualified for the tournament after wins over Cruz Hewitt and Lloyd Harris. He also impressed in Hangzhou, progressing to the quarter-finals after beating Zhizhen Zhang and Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, before a loss to eventual champion and former world number one Daniil Medvedev. 

Halys possesses plenty of weapons, including a big serve that should prove effective on this surface, and he deserves to start as the favourite. However, Wong cannot be dismissed after a productive Asian swing so far.
