Brest preview: Steady Brest

Following the passing of Eric Roy, his assistant coach Julien Laucher has taken charge of a Stade Brest side that have majorly punched above their weight in recent seasons as they now look to build on a steady start.

Brest have managed one victory with two draws and two defeats in their opening five matches of the campaign with those two defeats coming against Paris Saint-Germain and an in-form Auxerre side away from home.

Angers preview: Stubborn Angers

Angers lost manager Alexandre Dujeux to Lorient over the summer and he has been replaced by Stephane Gilli, formerly of Paris FC. Gilli’s start at Stade Raymond Kopa has been a positive one with seven points collected from their five matches.

Angers come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat of Troyes at Stade Raymond Kopa a few weeks ago, courtesy of goals scored by Prosper Peter and Abdullah Sbai in either half.

Brest team news: Versini a doubt

Giovani Versini has sustained a leg injury while on international duty with France’s U21 side, while key defenders Brendan Chardonnet and Raphael Le Guen remain sidelined.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Selvik; Lala, Bourgault, Lloris, Locko; Chotard, Magnetti; N’Guessan, Doumbia, Mboup; Ajorque

Unavailable: Chardonnet (Injured), Le Guen (Injured)

Questionable: Cagnon (Injured), Diambou (Injured), Versini (Injured)

Angers team news: Fully fit

Angers will be able to name an unchanged eleven for this weekend as they have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues and have a fully fit and available squad.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Lopes; Arcus, Camara, Lefort, Kalulu; Belkhdim, Van den Boomen; Allevinah, El Ouazzani, Sbai; Peter

Unavailable:

Questionable:

Brest vs Angers prediction

Brest have punched above their weight with a varied and entertaining style of football. Their five games have produced an average of three goals per game again this season to perhaps reflect that. They face an Angers side that, more reactive, will fancy themselves to continue their relatively strong start to the season and so both teams scoring may well be a decent bet for this one.

Brest vs Angers tip: Both teams to score
