Lecce are seeking to evolve themselves away from being perennial relegation battlers in Serie A as they now take on Bologna at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare in Apulia.

Lecce preview: Evolving Lecce

Still under the management of former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco, who took charge of Lecce last summer after successive relegations with Frosinone and then Venezia, Lecce are becoming a more proactive team this season.

The hosts have started the campaign with two victories and three defeats, with a more attacking mindset. That did see them come undone in their most recent outing as they were beaten 3-0 by AC Milan at San Siro.

Bologna preview: Faltering Bologna

Over the summer, the ever progressive Bologna opted to bring in conservative coach Domenico Tedesco, formerly of Schalke and Belgium. Tedesco, with a squad perhaps not suited to his style, is struggling at the moment.

Bologna started the campaign before the international break by collecting just two points in their opening five matches, most recently held to a 1-1 draw by Torino at the Renato Dall’Ara a few weeks ago.

Lecce team news: Couple of doubts

Lecce head into this one dealing with a couple of doubts as both Medon Berisha and Willem Geubbels are potentially unavailable for Lecce.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Falcone; Veiga, Gaspar, Siebert, Gallo; Coulibaly, Ilic, Maleh; Pierotti, Stulic, Monteiro

Unavailable:

Questionable: Berisha (Fitness), Geubbels (Fitness)

Bologna team news: Dovbyk still a doubt

Marquee signing this summer, Artem Dovbyk remains an injury doubt for the visitors with both Emil Holm and Jens Odgaard remaining sidelined for Bologna.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Skorupski; Helland, Heggem, Theate; Zortea, Ferguson, Pobega, Juan Miranda; Bernadeschi, Piccoli, Cambiaghi

Unavailable: Holm (Injured), Odgaard (Injured)

Questionable: Dovbyk (Fitness)

Lecce vs Bologna prediction

Bologna have a squad of players that, as shown in previous seasons under Thiago Motta and then Vincenzo Italiano, can play a very exciting and entertaining style of football. However, that is not the way of Tedesco and they are being punished for that jumbled thinking. As a result, it may well be a decent value bet to side with Lecce for this one, especially with their improvement and home advantage.

Lecce vs Bologna tip: Double chance – Lecce to win or draw
