World number four Daniil Medvedev beat a slightly hampered Holger Rune in straight sets on Thursday, backing-up two eye-catching results over Grigor Dimitrov and Sebastian Korda. The 28-year-old finished runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz here last season and this run says his affinity with the conditions he once vocally lambasted is no fluke, nor does his first ever win on clay at the Italian Open last May.
