THE PREDICTION
This will be an interesting year for 21-year-old Camila Osorio after she set a career-high WTA world ranking of 33rd last April off the back of an excellent breakthrough in 2021. The Colombian is at her best on clay, on which she won her maiden WTA title at the Bogota Open on home soil in 2021, but she is good enough across all surfaces to be a top 20, if not top 10 player, one day. A first round exit to Naomi Osaka this time last season was no great embarrassment and she has been offered a more favourable fixture this time around in world number 90 Panna Udvardy. The Hungarian ended last season with some excellent form on the ITF circuit but her last tour-level victory came last July at the Palermo Ladies Open. Osorio has started 2023 fairly sluggishly but she can be backed to come through the outright winner here.
