THE PREDICTION

World number seven Qinwen Zheng endured an understandably choppy week last time out on Doha, her first since finishing runner-up to Aryna Sabalenka at the Australian Open, with a three-set victory over Magda Linette preceding a straight-sets defeat to Leylah Fernandez. The 21-year-old reached the Melbourne final without playing a top 50 player but her performances in recent months have been becoming of a top 10 player, with maiden titles picked up in Parma and Zhengzhou either side of an excellent run to the quarter-finals of the US Open – where she also lost to Sabalenka. World number 90 Nao Hibino also overcame Magda Linette in three on Sunday to build on a strong qualifying campaign but this should be too steep of a challenge. Back Zheng to win outright inside an accumulator, for caution’s sake, or in straight sets on its own.

TIP: QINWEN ZHENG TO WIN 2-0
