29-year-old Daria Saville will move back up to world number 152nd after a strong run to the semi-finals of the Hobart International this week, where she lost in three tight sets to top seed Elise Mertens. The former number 20 had been struggling to build back from a lengthy injury lay-off last season but she will be backed to the hilt as a popular home hopeful in this likely lengthy battle with world number 72 Magdalena Frech. 26-year-old Frech lost to eventual Hobart champion Emma Navarro on Wednesday but a comeback win over Sara Sorribes Tormo before that was an encouraging result.
