THE PREDICTION
21-year-old Luciano Darderi will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 108th after claiming the biggest win of his life so far on Friday, beating seventh seed Yannick Hanfmann in straight sets. The Italian has only played six matches at tour level so far, with this his seventh, and two of them have come against Sebastian Baez after the Argentine put him out of the round of 16 here at the Cordoba Open last season. World number 26 Baez went on to win his second ATP title here and he has made an excellent defence of it so far with two matched played on the spin on Friday to oust Hugo Dellien and Facundo Diaz Acosta. Darderi is one of two semi-finalists who did not have to play twice yesterday due to the severe weather in Cordoba but Baez will be backed to the hilt as the home favourite and that should make up for a gulf in energy. Back the second seed to reach the final.
