22-year-old Kaja Juvan can be far better than her current world ranking of 104th suggests but the Slovenian is one of the more unpredictable players on tour. Juvan took Angelique Kerber all the way in a thrilling Strasbourg Open final last May and she stunned in-form Beatriz Haddad-Maia at Wimbledon before an equally odd defeat to Heather Watson in the round of 16. This looks a definite match to leave out of any promising accumulators on Monday as Juvan’s last win on tour came on home soil at the Slovenia Open back in September and 20-year-old Selena Janicijevic qualified well this week to take some considerable momentum into her Australian Open debut. The Frenchwoman enjoyed some strong results on the ITF circuit last season but Juvan should have enough about her to avoid a big upset here. Ultimately, it would not be a surprise to see the Slovenian stunned but she could just as easily coast through to the second round. Consider a one-off on Janicijevic to earn at least a set or leave this match well alone.
