The evergreen John Isner beat Vasek Pospisil in straight sets on Friday to reach the semi-finals of the inaugural Dallas Open as the third seed. The 36-year-old’s record on American soil speaks for itself, with each of his last eight ATP titles coming in the US and 14 out of his 16 titles overall. A win at the Hall of Fame Open last season, his record-extending seventh, gives him the edge against the remaining men in the draw but world number 23 Reilly Opelka has beaten Isner in each of their last three meetings to lead their head-to-head record 3-1. 24-year-old Opelka took out in-form Adrian Mannarino in straight sets on Friday to set-up this huge ace-off between two of the biggest servers around.
