World number 54 Jenson Brooksby will set a new career-high of at least 45th after reaching his second ATP tour final. The 21-year-old overcame the impressive Marcos Giron in three sets on Saturday but he lost his first final to a big-server in Kevin Anderson at the Hall of Fame Open last season and he faces an even tougher version today. World number 23 Reilly Opelka scraped past John Isner via a record-breaking 24-22 tiebreak in the second set. The 24-year-old slammed down 39 aces in that match, with no double faults suggesting his biggest weapon is finely tuned indeed ahead of this intriguing match. Opelka has won two ATP titles, both of them coming on US soil at the New York Open in 2019 and Delray Beach two years ago but Brooksby won their first meeting at last season’s European Open. Calling the winner here is difficult between the experienced Opelka and talented youngster but taking Brooksby to win at least a set seems reasonable here given their previous encounter.
