It looks like Maja’s Mojo is back.

After a difficult spell following her incredible French Open run, the Pole has looked impressive in Singapore.

The fifth seed followed up a 6-4 6-2 win over Rebecca Sramkova with a crushing 6-0 6-1 success over an in-form Oleksandra Oliynykova

The world number 25 will now face a fresh Elise Mertens after the Belgian fourth seed was handed a walkover by Barbora Krejcikova. 

It provides Mertens with a chance of revenge after she lost their maiden battle 6-4 6-0 at the French Open.

This is a tougher call given Maja’s magic so far in this draw, but you would expect a consistent Mertens to offer more threat. 

With that in mind, backing a decent swell of games may be the safest option.
