Yunchaokete Bu vs Michael Zheng prediction

Yunchaokete Bu returns to action for the first time since the US Open, where he came through qualifying as a lucky loser before reaching the second-round. The Chinese player produced one of the shocks of the tournament as he thrashed Rafael Jodar in his opener, before a loss to Michael Zheng, who he will be facing at this event.

Zheng is in strong form overall. He advanced to the third-round in New York and then backed that up with a run to the semi-finals of the Tiburon Challenger. He beat Ethan Zhu, Trevor Svajda and Mitchell Krueger, before a loss to Darwin Blanch in two tight sets. He had also reached the third-round in Cincinnati last month.

The head-to-head is 1-1. Bu won their first encounter in straight sets at the Chicago Challenger in 2024, but Zheng picked up his first win after a convincing win at Flushing Meadows last month. He has won six of his last eight matches overall and has to be viewed as a slight favourite to win against Bu again.
