St. Petersburg Open’s sixth seed Jelena Ostapenko has blasted past Xinyu Wang and Andrea Petkovic so far to the tune of just eight conceded games but Aliaksandra Sasnovich should put up more of a challenge. The Belarussian reached the final of her first tournament of the season back in January before a three-set defeat to Amanda Anisimova and she has beaten the likes of Simona Halep, Clara Tauson and Emma Raducanu over the last few months. Ostapenko leads this head-to-head record 3-0 but the pair have not faced each other since the round of 16 at Wimbledon back in 2018. The Latvian looks the fair favourite to come through here but Sasnovich has proven herself capable of shocks over the last few months an that makes taking Ostapenko to win at least a set the most reasonable option here.
