World number 25 Jan-Lennard Struff came through a typically robust three-set slog with Borna Coric on Friday, coming back from a set down to edge the deciding tiebreak 11-9, and he should not be underestimated as a player who often finds his best against the crème de la crème. The 33-year-old took Alcaraz to three sets before defeat in the Madrid Masters final last April, to prove what he can do at this level, but Sinner has not lost to anyone but Novak Djokovic since late October.
