FIONA FERRO VS ANHELINA KALININA PREDICTION
27-year-old Anhelina Kalinina dropped back to world number 56 this week after a third round exit to Maria Sakkari at the Italian Open saw her fall well short of her career-best run to the final in Rome last season. The Ukrainian bounced back in three sets against eighth seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on Sunday, though, to prove herself a serious threat on her favoured clay and she should be able to roll through the quarter-finals in this much kinder fixture against Fiona Ferro.
World number 142 Ferro reached the round of 16 at Roland-Garros back in 2020 to capitalise on a real purple patch of her career but she has fallen away quite dramatically since. The 27-year-old won two clay titles in Lausanne in 2019 and Palermo soon after her deep run in Paris a year later but despite a strong opener over Erika Andreeva on Monday she should struggle here. Back Kalinina to win in straight sets.
