THE PREDICTION
World number 15 Ugo Humbert has fully repaired his career after a woeful 2022 saw him drop out of the top 100 on tour, with last year’s resurgence culminating in a third ATP title on home soil at the Metz Open. The 25-year-old has won a further two trophies this season, including a second ATP 500 title at the Dubai Tennis Championships, but he has failed to win back-to-back matches since February to throw a little doubt over this home-from-home campaign in Monaco. This is no gimme against world number 89 Federico Coria, who can be a serious threat on his favoured clay, but home advantage should see the Frenchman come through on his weakest surface. 32-year-old Coria reached back-to-back semi-finals on clay in his native Argentina back in February but he has struggled to make a dent on tour since. Back Humbert to win outright.
TIP: UGO HUMBERT TO WIN
