THE PREDICTION

World number 33 Dayana Yastremska repaired her listless ranking with an incredible run to the semi-finals of the Australian Open in January, proving to the world what she can do when she finds that elusive mix of rhythm and confidence, but she has failed to win back-to-back matches since. A three-set comeback over Emiliana Arango this time two weeks ago in Madrid was a solid result on clay but world number 86 Laura Siegemund should offer a much tougher test in her favoured conditions after an impressive comeback of her own over in-form Maria Carle.

The 36-year-old qualified handily this week to bounce back well from defeat in the Women’s Doubles in Madrid last weekend and she has looked competitive in singles in recent weeks, taking Marie Bouzkova and Marta Kostyuk to three sets before defeats in Bogota and Stuttgart, respectively. Back the German to win at least a set on momentum in Rome but leave this tough call out of an accumulator.

TIP: LAURA SIEGEMUND TO WIN A SET
