Former world number 10 Emma Raducanu produced perhaps her most convincing win yet this season, beating Rebeka Masarova in straight sets to take her 2024 record to an encouraging 4-4. The 21-year-old is targeting her first back-to-back victories on tour since reaching the round of 16 here last season and that would certainly be considered a successful campaign this time around after undergoing three surgeries to miss the majority of 2023.
World number 31 Dayana Yastremska has won just two of her last five matches since her remarkable run to the semi-finals of the Australian Open in January, where she stunned the likes of Marketa Vondrousova and two-time former champion Victoria Azarenka before defeat to eventual runner-up Qinwen Zheng. The Ukrainian should be considered the favourite on overall form this season but her inconsistency is about as potent as Raducanu’s fitness issues to make this a serious coupon buster.
