THE PREDICTION

World number 55 Sara Sorribes Tormo is one of a few interesting title contenders this week in Jiangxi, not least due to her claiming a second WTA title at the Cleveland Championships in late August. The 27-year-old has spent much of this season working her way back from a lengthy injury lay-off last year but she has an exciting, combative game that can cause most players trouble when everything falls into place. A second-set bagel over Xinyu Jiang on Monday was a solid start to her campaign but world number 76 Camila Osorio is another player, like the Spaniard, with a high ceiling when at her best. The 21-year-old conceded just one game in her opening match yesterday to suggest this could be a thrilling battle and their only previous encounter confirms that, with Sorribes Tormo overcoming the Colombian in three tight sets last August. Back the Spaniard to earn at least a set inside an accumulator or take her to edge it outright on its own.
