THE PREDICTION

World number nine Felix Auger-Aliassime looks dialled in this week at the Los Cabos Open after back-to-back straight-sets wins over Alex Hernandez and Steve Johnson. The 21-year-old is one win away from a remarkable 11th tour final already, although he has lost an equally remarkable nine of those, most recently to Andrey Rublev at the Open 13 in February. World number 12 Cam Norrie is the defending champion here in Los Cabos, the first of now four ATP titles the Brit has won over the last 12 months as one of the tour’s most improved players. The 26-year-old is also yet to drop a set this week but this will be his first true test and a tough one at that as Auger-Aliassime has won all four of their meetings so far. Norrie’s great strength his consistency on tour but, as good as he is against players ranked below him, there has been something of a top 10 ceiling so far in his results. Auger-Aliassime has won both of their meetings this season in straight sets but Norrie is defending champion in conditions that suit him and that makes taking the Canadian to win outright wise here.
