THE PREDICTION
19-year-old Alex Michelsen brings a career-high ATP world ranking of 73rd into the Miami Open with a huge opportunity to do something special this fortnight in conditions that suit him. The American will be well-backed by home support after impressing so far on tour, with a remarkable run to the Newport Open final in only his second tournament last July backed-up by impressive wins over the likes of Jiri Lehecka and Alex de Minaur this season. 25-year0old Lukas Klein also brings a career-high of 128th into Miami after qualifying handily this weekend, upsetting rising star Jakub Mensik on Tuesday to look ready for this challenge. The Slovak reached the second round at Indian Wells after a similarly strong qualifying run two weeks ago but Michelsen should put up more of a test than his opening fixture there. This is a tough call between qualifying form and home advantage but back Klein to earn at least a set on impressive results, particularly as Michelsen recently suffered a damaging defeat from the jaws of victory at the Los Cabos Open last month.
TIP: LUKAS KLEIN TO WIN A SET
