  • The 33-year-old has lost at the first round stage on eight of those 11 previous appearances here but he was the winner in the only previous meeting with Filip Krajinovic.

THE PREDICTION

Neither player enters this first round match with any real form to speak of and a five-match losing streak on tour for Filip Krajinovic could be the difference-maker here. Consummate professional Robin Haase beat the Serb in three sets at the Cincinnati Masters back in 2018 and he at least has a win to his name in 2021 for some match practice. Both players look capable of taking a set in this one and it could be worth leaving it there. In normal service this should be a Krajinovic victory but confidence is low here and it could go either way.
