The senior Republic of Ireland team reached the FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs after an incredible last-gasp winner away to Hungary. But two days earlier, it was their U-17 squad making the headlines after a 9-8 penalty shootout win over Canada to secure a place in the FIFA U-17 World Cup round of 16.

Switzerland have been impressive throughout the competition so far, with seven points from nine in the group stage and most recently a 3-1 triumph over Egypt to set this match up. They’ve scored ten goals in four games, but face another undefeated side in Republic of Ireland who were excellent against the Canadians.
