Switzerland vs Republic of Ireland prediction

It’s been a dramatic and thrilling past few days for Irish football at all age levels. The senior Republic of Ireland team reached the FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs after an incredible last-gasp winner away to Hungary. But two days earlier, it was their U-17 squad making the headlines after a 9-8 penalty shootout win over Canada to secure a place in the FIFA U-17 World Cup round of 16.

Switzerland have been impressive throughout the competition so far, with seven points from nine in the group stage and most recently a 3-1 triumph over Egypt to set this match up. They’ve scored ten goals in four games, but face another undefeated side in Republic of Ireland who were excellent against the Canadians. Two attacking teams should lead to plenty of action and both teams finding the net.
