Southern Brave vs Welsh Fire prediction
When the look at the squad assembled by Welsh Fire this year, you have to take them seriously. Three-time men’s Hundred champion Jordan Cox adds match-winning pedigree to the batting line-up, whilst Phil Salt and Matt Short could prove destructive at the top of the order. You’ve also got Joe Root in the mix and with the ball, Marco Jansen and Lockie Ferguson are excellent overseas picks.
Southern Brave boasts quality bowling of their own, spearheaded by Jofra Archer. But the batting looks questionable, with a James Vince sized hole in the top order. Their success will likely fall upon the fortunes of their big-hitting overseas contingent. David Miller, Marcus Stoinis and Tristan Stubbs are capable of fireworks, but the latter is in bad form following a poor T20 Blast campaign with Hampshire Hawks.
If ever there was a game for Welsh Fire to make a statement, this is it. With the team they have put to together, backing them to come away from Southampton with the points is a move worth making.
