An intriguing battle in store here between two three-time world champions with both having come through testing second-round games in relative comfort. Selby saw off the challenge of Mark Allen 13-7 while Williams defeated old rival John Higgins by the same scoreline so the pair of them will have plenty in the tank ahead of what will be their 39th career meeting. Recent history has gone in favour of Selby as the Leicester potter has won five of their last six contests and he is marginally favoured here with his all-round match play likely to be enough to take him over the line against the veteran Welshman, although don't rule out Williams pushing him close.
