MARK ALLEN VS MARK SELBY PREDICTION
The two Marks do battle here with both enjoying dominant wins in the first round, with Allen demolishing Haotian Lu 10-2 while Selby went one better by losing just one frame against last year’s quarter-finalist Kurt Maflin. Allen – who as usual has been doing plenty of talking off the baize this week – actually has a winning record against three-time world champion Selby and has also won their last two meetings, but this is their first ever contest at the Crucible and it is undoubtedly a venue where Selby has enjoyed more success than his Northern Irish opponent. The Jester from Leicester feels at home in Sheffield and looks primed for a deep run this year, and should just edge what promises to be a high-quality affair.
