JOHN HIGGINS VS MARK WILLIAMS PREDICTION
Easily one of the standout second-round clashes, this pits four-time champion John Higgins against three-time winner Mark Williams in a match that is perhaps befitting of a more advanced stage of the tournament. The pair have served up some memorable Crucible meetings in the past, not least the 2018 final which saw Williams clinch an 18-16 victory in a marathon contest, and it would be no surprise to see this one also be decided by small margins. Higgins simply has to improve following an error-strewn display against Tian Pengfei but playing his old rival should bring the best out in him while Williams looked in good nick in his opener against Sam Craigie and will fancy his chances of progressing. Whichever way it swings, this could well go over 22.5 frames.
