Slovan Bratislava preview: Poor start for Slovan

Now under the management of Yaya Toure, Slovan Bratislava are aiming to avoid their 2024-25 UEFA Champions League league phase campaign in which they suffered eight defeats from eight and conceded 27 goals in the process.

It was a poor start to avoiding that a few weeks ago, though, as they succumbed to a 6-1 demolition at the hands of double defending European champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

Stuttgart preview: Entertaining Stuttgart

Stuttgart, with highly-rated young coach Sebastian Hoeness still at the helm, are continuing to be one of the more entertaining watches in European football with their seven games across all competitions consisting of 25 goals.

That number is fairly low and underwhelming despite it being above the average, given just how fun they were last year. Chris Fuhrich notched a brace at the weekend as they eased to a comfortable 2-0 win away at newly-promoted Paderborn.

Slovan Bratislava team news: Fully fit

Surprisingly and something that is rare for a team in the autumn of the UEFA Champions League, Slovan Bratislava have what appears to be a fully fit and available squad for the visit of Stuttgart.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Takac; Blackman, Bajric, Markovic, Cruz; Martinez, Pokorny, Ibrahim; Barseghyan, Sporar, Camara

Stuttgart team news: Several issues

Summer signing Tiago Tomas remains sidelined alongside the likes of Ameen Al Dakhil and Luca Jaquez with those two potentially also joined on the sidelines alongside fellow defender Jeff Chabot and Maximilian Mittelstadt, albeit both may well push through.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Seimen; Vagnoman, Jeltsch, Chabot, Mittelstadt; Promel, Stiller; El Khannouss, Undav, Fuhrich; Demirovic

Unavailable: Al Dakhil (Injured), Jaquez (Injured), Nartey (Injured), Tomas (Injured)

Questionable: Chabot (Injured), Mittelstadt (Injured)

Slovan Bratislava vs Stuttgart prediction

Having played and comfortably defeated Norwegian champions Viking in their league phase opener a few weeks ago, Stuttgart now have a very good opportunity to be one of the few teams that will start the league phase with back-to-back victories. Slovan may well be more competitive with home advantage and against weaker opposition but Stuttgart will more than fancy themselves to ease to another win in the Slovakian capital city.

Slovan Bratislava vs Stuttgart Tip: Stuttgart to win
