THE PREDICTION
La Rochelle have won seven and lost seven of their 14 Top 14 matches played so far after a tight 31-30 loss at Castres at the start of the year. They have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions Cup after a huge 30-38 victory away at Glasgow Warriors last Saturday and they have not lost at home since the opening day of the Top 14 season to reigning champions Toulouse. Travelling Montpellier won the reverse of this fixture 21-11 back in October and they have won each of their last six Top 14 matches. Their stunning 37-26 victory at home to Exeter Chiefs last Sunday saw them safely through to the last 16 too but they lost both away trips in Europe at Exeter and Leinster by margins of 36 and 82 points, respectively, suggesting that hosts La Rochelle can take this match by a modest -5 as a side less prone to huge scorelines but just as tough to beat.
