THE LOWDOWN

IRELAND

  • Ireland blew the chance of making it back-to-back Grand Slams as they fell to a last-gasp loss against England last week to bring their perfect start to the tournament to an end.
  • Head coach Andy Farrell will be eager for his side to produce a response and has opted to retain faith in the same 15 that took to the field last week while Garry Ringrose is a welcome addition to the bench.

SCOTLAND

  • Scotland blew a decent lead against Italy last week as their inconsistent tournament continued and they now face a tough trip to Dublin to wrap things up.
  • The Scots will be looking to finish second in the table and despite last week’s shock loss, they have resisted the urge to avoid making wholesale changes, although Stafford McDowall will make his debut.

THE TEAM NEWS

SCOTLAND

THE PREDICTION

Ireland’s dream of earning consecutive Grand Slams is over after they went down to England in what was the final play of the game last week. Hanging on to a slender lead, Marcus Smith slotted a drop goal to win it for England in what was a shock result and they will be desperate to respond here. Scotland also suffered a loss that was far from expected as they were beaten by Italy and while they too will be eager to atone for that, Ireland’s incredible home record cannot be ignored so side with the hosts to get the job done and land the Six Nations title.

TIP: IRELAND -15
