THE TEAM NEWS
BATH
- Bath come into this contest with no wins to their name in the competition so far and despite wanting to break their duck as they host Harlequins, they will have to do so with an under-strength side after making wholesale changes.
- Flanker Sam Underhill made a return to action in last week’s loss to Gloucester but Bath have opted to leave him out of this contest and he is one of 14 changes with Anthony Watson the only player to retain his starting spot.
- Watson will skipper the side as he switches to fullback from the wing while there is some promising news on the injury front with Max Green and Jackson Willison named in the starting XV and the pair will make their first appearances of the season.
HARLEQUINS
- Harlequins were on the end of a big defeat at the hands of Sale in the Premiership last week and will be keen to respond here as they travel to Bath although there is only pride on the line with Quins unable to progress.
- Quins may have looked to rest some stars in this dead rubber but after a poor display last week, they are have opted to name a strong side with England prop Kyle Sinckler coming back into the team after sitting out last week’s game through injury.
- Luke Northmore will start for the first time following his signing in the summer while recent signing Tom Penny could make his debut if introduced from the bench after he was named as an interchange.
THE PREDICTION
Harlequins boss Paul Gustard was left fuming with his side's display against Sale last week and will demand much more in this contest. He has made several changes to his side with some of his players carrying knocks but has still named a strong team and will expect the victory. They travel to Bath for an all-English affair and with only pride at stake due to neither team being able to qualify for the quarter-finals, the hosts have opted to make wholesale changes which should give Gustard and Quins the outcome they desire.
