THE TEAM NEWS

ST. GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

  • St. George Illawarra Dragons were no match for an impressive North Queensland Cowboys outfit but their opponents rarely got out of first gear in that contest and it was a worrying display from the Dragons.
  • They showed very little with the ball while they were ordinary in defence with the Dragons failing to make it three straight wins but in their quest to bounce back, they will be boosted by the return of winger Mikaele Ravalawa after missing the last three with a hamstring injury.

Starting 13: Ramsey, Mat. Feagai, Suli, Lomax, Ravalawa, Amone, B. Hunt, De Belin, McCullough, Lawrie, Bird, Su’A, Sims – Interchanges: Mbye, F. Molo, Woods, M. Molo – Reserves: Kerr, Moga, Sullivan, J. Hunt, Burns

Unavailable: Josh McGuire

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs made it back-to-back victories thanks to recording a relatively comfortable win over Gold Coast Titans last week and they will fancy their chances of earning another success in this contest.
  • The Rabbits have scored 74 points in their last two outings with their offence starting to click but despite hoping to have influential fullback Latrell Mitchell back in the side this week to further enhance their ability with the ball, he has been forced to sit out under the NRL’s COVID protocols so Kodi Nikorima will continue in the #1 jersey.

Starting 13: Nikorima, Johnston, Milne, Graham, Paulo, Walker, Ilias, Tatola, Cook, Burgess, Koloamatangi, Arrow, Murray – Interchanges: Taaffe, Nicholls, Havili, Sele – Reserves: Mamouzelos, Tass, Hawkins, Cartwright, Knight

Unavailable: Latrell Mitchell, Michael Chee Kam, Jacob Host

THE PREDICTION

St. George Illawarra Dragons copped plenty of criticism for their meek effort against North Queensland Cowboys last week and they will need to produce a big response here. They looked like a very poorly coached outfit in that loss and coming up against a dangerous South Sydney Rabbitohs side, the home team could find themselves in trouble once again here. The Bunnies have yet to truly hit their straps this year but have produced some nice attacking play in their last couple of games and having won the past eight matchups between the pair, it would be a surprise if Souths did not record their third straight victory.
