THE TEAM NEWS

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs were involved in another thrilling contest but were able to prevail last week as they secured a golden point success against Manly Sea Eagles.
  • The Rabbitohs avoided a third successive loss with that win and will now look to put a winning run together but are still without a handful of forwards, although Hame Sele is back on deck this week.

Starting 13: L. Mitchell, Johnston, Tass, Graham, Tu’itupou Thompson, Walker, Ilias, Suluka-Fifita, Cook, Burgess, Koloamatangi, Host, Murray – Interchanges: Cartwright, Chee Kam, Moale, Sele – Reserves: Taaffe, Hawkins, Lovett, Milne, Duncan

Unavailable: Liam Knight (Injured), Siliva Havili (Injured), Jai Arrow (Injured), Tevita Tatola (Injured), Shaquai Mitchell (Injured)

MELBOURNE STORM

  • Melbourne Storm bounced back from successive losses as they got the better of Wests Tigers last week but they will need to be much better here as they face a tougher assignment than they came up against last time out.
  • The Storm did what was required to overcome the winless Tigers but there will be greater pressure on youngster Jonah Pezet this week owing to the suspension of Jahrome Hughes who will spend another week on the sidelines.

Starting 13: Meaney, Warbrick, Smith, Olam, Coates, Munster, Pezet, Kamikamica, H. Grant, Welch, Loiero, Katoa, King – Interchanges: Garlick, MacDonald, Sims, Eisenhuth – Reserves: Anderson, Wishart, J. Grant, Jennings, Howarth

Unavailable: Dean Ieremia (Injured), Ryan Papenhuyzen (Injured), Tepai Moeroa (Injured), Nelson Asofa-Solomona (Injured), Jahrome Hughes (Suspended)

THE PREDICTION

South Sydney Rabbitohs and Melbourne Storm will do battle in what has the makings of being a superb contest. Both avoided a third straight loss last week but each side will be eager to build on their respective victories. Souths have lost seven of their past eight encounters against the Storm but there are still some key men on the sideline for Melbourne and while they are capable of prevailing, preference is just for the home side in this one.
