THE TEAM NEWS

MELBOURNE STORM

  • Melbourne Storm got back to winning ways as they edged a thrilling contest with Brisbane Broncos last week to make it three wins from their four matches so far this season.
  • In a game that produced 66 points, the Storm’s 34 was enough to snatch the victory and they could well add Nelson Asofa-Solomona to their 17 here after he was listed on the extended bench.

Starting 13: 1. Ryan Papenhuyzen 2. William Warbrick 3. Reimis Smith 4. Nick Meaney 5. Xavier Coates 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Tui Kamikamica 9. Harry Grant 10. Josh King 11. Shawn Blore 12. Eliesa Katoa 13. Trent Loiero Bench: 14. Tyran Wishart 15. Christian Welch 16. Tepai Moeroa 17. Alec MacDonald Reserves: 18. Joe Chan 19. Jack Howarth 20. Marion Seve 21. Jonah Pezet 22. Nelson Asofa-Solomona

CANTERBURY BULLDOGS

  • Canterbury Bulldogs were given an almighty scare as they almost blew a 26-point lead against the 12 men of Sydney Roosters with the Tricolours closing that gap to just four points at full-time.
  • It may well have felt like a loss for the Doggies owing to how they played but they did enough to claim the two competition points, although Blake Taaffe is out with concussion so Stephen Crichton shifts to fullback for this clash.

Starting 13: 1. Stephen Crichton 2. Connor Tracey 3. Jacob Kiraz 4. Bronson Xerri 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Matt Burton 7. Drew Hutchison 8. Max King 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Chris Patolo 11. Viliame Kikau 12. Josh Curran 13. Jaeman Salmon Bench: 14. Bailey Hayward 15. Poasa Faamausili 16. Samuel Hughes 17. Kitione Kautoga Reserves: 19. Toby Sexton 20. Liam Knight 21. Jake Turpin 22. Jeral Skelton 23. Harry Hayes

THE PREDICTION

Melbourne Storm were involved in a crazy contest with Brisbane Broncos last week and will look to rely on their attacking quality as they aim to maintain their solid start to the season. Canterbury Bulldogs will be out to stop them here and having won two of their last three, will hope to have turned the corner. However, after almost blowing a huge lead last week, there will have been some tough questions asked in training and if the Storm can apply the same pressure they were able to mount in last week’s win, the hosts should be able to show their quality to make it four wins from five.

TIP: MELBOURNE STORM -14
