THE TEAM NEWS

DOLPHINS

  • Dolphins were extremely poor last week as they failed to fire in Round 1 and they suffered a heavy loss in their derby with North Queensland Cowboys as a result.
  • They will need to be much better as they aim to get off the mark for the campaign and head coach Wayne Bennett has seen enough already with several changes made here, including a change at halfback with Isaiya Katoa coming into the side.

ST. GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

  • St. George Illawarra Dragons claimed an eye-catching win over Gold Coast Titans last week as they got their new era off to a strong start and will aim to back it up here.
  • The Dragons ran out 4-28 victors in that contest thanks to winning the second half 0-22 and they are bolstered by the return of Luciano Leilua for this trip.

THE PREDICTION

It was a poor display all-round for the Dolphins last week and there is plenty of work to be done if they are to turn that performance around. They have mixed their side up this week in an effort to achieve that but they will come up against a buoyant St. George Illawarra Dragons outfit. The away side were superb in defeating Gold Coast Titans in Round 1 and if they can back that effort up here, they should be able to go two from two.

TIP: ST. GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS TO WIN
