THE TEAM NEWS

BRISBANE BRONCOS

  • Brisbane Broncos were edged out in a superb clash with Melbourne Storm last week with both teams showing in equal measure how good their attack can be while their defence needs work.
  • The Broncos scored 32 and shipped 34 in that game and they are yet to win back-to-back matches this season but star fullback Reece Walsh is back on deck for this contest after overcoming a facial fracture. However, skipper Adam Reynolds is out injured.

Starting 13: 1. Reece Walsh 2. Corey Oates 3. Kotoni Staggs 4. Selwyn Cobbo 5. Jesse Arthars 6. Ezra Mam 7. Jock Madden 8. Corey Jensen 9. Billy Walters 10. Fletcher Baker 11. Jaiyden Hunt 12. DOLPHINS

  • Dolphins made it three wins in-a-row as they got the better of Wests Tigers last week and they will hold no fear here as they aim to beat Brisbane for the first time.
  • They begin Round 6 at the top of the ladder and their chances of retaining that spot have been boosted by Queensland prop Tom Flegler being named in the side despite copping a shoulder injury last week, although centre Herbie Farnworth is out with an arm issue.

Starting 13: 1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 2. Jamayne Isaako 3. Jake Averillo 4. Tesi Niu 5. Jack Bostock 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Isaiya Katoa 8. Jesse Bromwich 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Thomas Flegler 11. THE PREDICTION

This game has been dubbed as the ‘Battle for Brisbane’ and looks to be a tasty matchup with both teams fancying their chances of prevailing. Brisbane Broncos played their part in an enthralling game with Melbourne Storm last week but their lack of consistency and mounting injury list is a concern at this early point of the season. The Dolphins have won their last three but this is the biggest challenge for them so far this season and while they should be game, the hosts are favoured to prevail at Suncorp.

TIP: BRISBANE BRONCOS TO WIN
