Panama vs Canada prediction

The baseball gods are not smiling down on Panama right now. Their lack of offence cost them against Cuba and then in a thriller vs Puerto Rico which saw them lead 2-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Pool A hosts rallied to tie the game, before walking it off in the tenth through Darell Hernaiz. It was a devastating blow for Panama and leaves them on the brink of elimination heading into their third of four pool play fixtures.

Canada will send Jameson Taillon out to the mound on the back of their victory over Colombia in game one and the experienced righty is coming off the back of a successful 2025 for the Chicago Cubs, which saw him shine in the post-season with two elimination game wins as a starter. However, spring training has not been kind to Taillon, who has been hit for multiple home runs. But a pitcher of his experience shouldn’t be phased by that and he’ll be expected to lock in and perform sharply here for the Canadians.

The offense looked impressive for Canada last time out with eight runs vs the Colombians. Abraham Toro has a big game, whilst Owen Cassie hit a two-run homer. Throw in the Naylor brothers and Canada have more than enough power to overwhelm Panama and outscore what has been a fairly stagnant batting unit so far.
