Novak Djokovic vs Taylor Fritz prediction

Novak Djokovic advanced to yet another Grand Slam quarter-final after beating Jan-Lennard Struff in straight sets. Djokovic had needed four sets in his last two matches but this was a quick and dominant win after just an hour and 49 minutes. He conceded just one break point as he won 6-3 6-3 6-2. However, Djokovic was treated by the physio once more for issues with his neck and shoulder.

He will face Taylor Fritz as the American number one produced his display of the tournament so far to defeat Tomas Machac 6-4 6-3 6-3. Fritz served strongly, winning 91% of his first serve points and not even conceding a break point. A beaten finalist last year, Fritz is two matches away from repeating the feat.

He will have to improve his dreadful record against the Serb however, as he trails 10-0 in the head-to-head. Their last four encounters have been on outdoor hard court, with Djokovic winning all but one without the drop of a set.

They faced each other at this point of the tournament two years ago, with Djokovic crushing Fritz 6-1 6-4 6-4. The American has improved as a player since then and is likely to prover sterner opposition, but we still expect the 24-time Grand Slam champion to make it through.
