Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz prediction

Novak Djokovic advanced to yet another Grand Slam semi-final after defeating Taylor Fritz in the last eight. The Serb was not at his best but still clutched up when it mattered most, saving 11 out of 13 break points as he defeated Fritz in four sets. The American staged a fightback in the third set but doubled faulted when serving to stay in the match, with Djokovic winning 6-3 7-5 3-6 6-4 to extend his winning run to 11 matches against Fritz.

Carlos Alcaraz will be his opponent in the semis after the Spaniard continued his fine form against Jiri Lehecka. The Spaniard did not even face a break point as he beat Lehecka 6-4 6-2 6-4 after just an hour and 56 minutes. Alcaraz wowed the spectators with some brilliant shot making but this was also an efficient and ruthless performance, and he has still not dropped a set at this year’s tournament.

Djokovic leads the head-to-head 5-3 and 2-0 on outdoor hard court, while he has also won four out of their last five meetings. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has the psychological advantage, but Alcaraz is playing as well as ever on this surface and has performed at a higher level in the tournament so far.

Alcaraz has suffered some bruising losses to Djokovic in recent times, and he will be determined to set the record straight and go clear in the Grand Slam head-to-head between the pair, which currently stands at 2-2. The Spaniard heads into this last four match with so much momentum and his relentless aggression should prove too much for Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz tip: Carlos Alcaraz to win 3-0 or 3-1
