SAM ALVEY VS MICHAL OLEKSIEJCZUK LOWDOWN

Sam Alvey (33-17-1(1)) is on an impressive streak. Impressive for all the wrong reasons without a win in his last eight fights. He has fallen on the wrong side of some dubious decisions, but the fact that he is still in the UFC after losing seven and drawing one since 2018 is quite the feat. That draw was against Da Un Jung (2020) which was the first blemish on the Korean’s record at the time, but he went on to get submitted by Julian Marquez (2021) and Brendan Allen (2022) sandwiching a split decision loss to Wellington Turman (2021).

Michal Oleksiejczuk’s (16-5(1)) form has been less consistent which is a good thing as he has at least collected some decent wins in between losses. He got submitted twice in a row against the talented Ovince Saint Preux (2019) and Jimmy Crute (2019) but went on to earn a split decision over Modestas Bukauskar (2021) and vintage TKO over Shamil Gamzatov (2021). However, he is coming off another loss and unanimous decision to Dustin Jacoby back in March to dent his UFC record down to 4-3(1).

SAM ALVEY VS MICHAL OLEKSIEJCZUK PREDICTION

Putting form aside, this is good matchmaking and should be a fun fight. They are both solid boxers with 30 knockouts between them. Oleksiejczuk moves down to middleweight, but will be giving up a slight height and reach advantage.

Oleksiejczuk does not have the experience of Alvey but he has the one-punch knockout power to make up for any discrepancy. The Pole is 4-3(1) in UFC and has struggled against grapplers and fortunately for him, Alvey is going to stand and bang.

Considering Alvey’s form and Oleksiejczuk’s power, this should be a breeze for the Pole. Looking at the astronomical odds, Alvey may be worth a small punt.
